4 Ways to Know God Better
Do you ever feel like the culture is so loud, it’s hard to hear yourself think? I know I do! I want to give you some ways to know God better. There are constantly voices in our ears, fighting for our attention. With all that noise, it’s hard to tune in to the one voice that matters.
I want to encourage you to do whatever you have to do to make space for God in your life, because without that one-on-one time, your purpose gets clouded and you grow further and further away from your assignment.
God loves you so much. He wants to hear from you and tell you about all He has for you. We can’t know who we are and what our purposes are without hearing it from God, right?
That’s why I put together a few helpful tips and ways to know God better!
Making Time to Pray
One of the most difficult but most important things you can do for your life is pray.
Easier said than done, I know!
But sometimes all that lies between you and your time with God is an adjustment in priorities.
God doesn’t require you to clock in and clock out. He just wants to see you want a relationship with Him!
There are all kinds of places that you could find a little extra time…
Do you like to binge watch Amazon Prime series? Maybe you are an HGTV buff, or like to do a little online shopping?
You can allow yourself online shopping freedom on certain nights of the week and save certain nights for prayer. Whatever you do, schedule it and keep it the same as if it were a doctor’s appointment.
Hold yourself to a high standard with prayer time.
I don’t know about you, but I think the quickest way to a failed relationship is to stop spending any time together.
Make time with God, and watch as life gets better and happier!

Checking In
No matter how clearly you heard God’s instructions, you still have to check in with Him and make sure you are on the same page.
Am I doing what you created me to do? Am I going about it the way you intended me to? Are there any opportunities I am missing? How can I go even further in my assignment? 🤔
You get the picture.
God is always calling us to go further in our assignments and to do more! It isn’t about getting to a place where you are comfortable, so if that is what you think, think again!
God is going to call you do to the impossible, but, remember, nothing is impossible with God.
Open and Closed Doors
God is so good. He will open doors you thought were permanently closed, AND He will shut doors that you were never meant to walk through.
Whether you are thinking about a job opportunity, a potential business partnership, or wondering whether a certain person could be your future spouse, if a door closes, trust that it was never meant for you. When things don’t go the way you want them to go, trust there is a reason.
God loves you. He wants you to succeed in your passions and your purpose.
You might not understand how it unfolds or why it unfolds the way it does, or why it takes soooooo long, but Proverbs 3:5-6 tell us to “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”
Remember, You Are a New Creation
One of the fastest ways to short-circuit God’s plan for your life is by living in the past.
Second Corinthians 5:17 tells us “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!”
When you are constantly rehearsing old mistakes and echoing old regrets, you are frozen in the old you, but YOU AREN’T THE OLD YOU; CHRIST MADE YOU NEW! 🙌
No matter where you are in your life, what you have done, or how long it has been since you have prayed, it is never too late.
When you make the choice to go to God and believe all He says about you, your life will change, just like it did for me and my husband, Gary.
For years, we begged God for help. Trust me, when you stop begging and start believing and expecting, life is never the same again! God is able to do more than you can ask, think, or IMAGINE when you turn your dreams over to Him!
