Destined for Victory Despite Living Like a Victim

 In Articles, Growth, Happy Life

How can you live destined for victory despite living like a victim?

“I’m too young…”

“I’m too old…”

“I’ve made too many mistakes…”

“I’ve messed up…”

“I’m not good enough…”

How often do you let one of these excuses stop you from doing something? How often do they stop you from doing what God has called you to do?

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come so that they may have life, and have it to the full” (John 10:10, NIV).

Satan’s intent is to steal, kill, and destroy. He wants to rob you of your vision, desires, purpose, and destiny. He wants to make you think that you can’t do anything. He will lie to you and make you feel as if you’ve made too many mistakes or that you’re not good enough to fulfill what God has called you to do.

Lies the Enemy Tells Us

1. Your dreams are excessive.

Satan will point a finger at you and tell you that you don’t deserve what God has called you to do or what He has given you. He will tell you that you can’t have nice things and that it’s excessive to have anything good, because he wants you to be on the bottom.

The enemy wants you to think it’s excessive for you to have something good. He wants to rob you of all that you have in Christ and all that Jesus paid for on the cross so that he can keep you underneath. He knows the potential you have and what you are able to accomplish with God and doesn’t want you to find out.

Satan wants you to take your focus off of your destiny, future, and what God has called you to do.

When Gary and I were living in the 1800s farmhouse, I would dream even though everything around me looked impossible. I put the sign “Make the Choice to Rejoice” up in the one bathroom we had in that house to remind myself. When I would go into that bathroom to cry or have a pity party, I would see the sign.

God is bigger than your circumstances. He has an incredible future for you, so don’t quit! Make the choice to rejoice.

2. You’re a victim.

Satan will lie to you and tell you that you are a victim. He wants you to believe that your situation is someone else’s fault, and that someone else is to blame. He wants you to think that someone else needs to fix things for you and that since nothing is your fault, you can complain about it.

You can’t get out of the cycle of blame and complain until you take personal responsibility for your life, your future, and your destiny. You are not a victim; you’re a victor! Romans 8:37 (NLT) says, “No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.” Take responsibility for your own life so you can learn everything you need to learn to fulfill the destiny He has called you to.

I want to encourage you to attack the enemy’s lies in your life. You can dream! The devil will tell you that following God is the way to poverty or that you can’t do it. But with God, ALL things are possible!

You Are Destined for Victory Despite Living Like a Victim

Did you know God created you for greatness? You don’t have to live like a victim!

In order to fulfill the destiny God has called you to, you need to have a burning desire to do something great!

Satan has put the church on the defense, but Jesus’s Word is TRUE. Satan points out our weaknesses so we get distracted and he can conquer us instead of us focusing on our destinies from God.

We have to stay double focused. Why? Because the more you are determined and focused on your vision, the more the enemy will try to distract you and pull you away from what God has for you.

What is it you want to see happen in your life? What kind of legacy do you want to have?

Jesus put dreams inside of you that may seem impossible in your own ability. God gave you those dreams for a reason. They may seem impossible, but they’re not through Christ! That’s why Jesus encourages us, “‘If you can?’ said Jesus. ‘Everything is possible for one who believes’” (Mark 9:23, NIV).

Dealing with Sharks

Have you ever felt pushback when you tried to step out and chase your dreams?

The Bible says not to be surprised when persecution comes. The world hated Jesus, and HE was perfect! Stand firm until the end.

Persecution is designed by the enemy to convince you to shy away from the blessing of God, but don’t do it! Embrace the magnificent plan of God for your life, and boldly pursue a relationship with Him in the face of obstacles.

You have a dream and a calling on you that is even bigger than you could ask, think, or IMAGINE right now.

Press forward! Don’t give up! Trust God and follow His leading every step of the way.

Instead of your shame you will receive a double portion, and instead of disgrace you will rejoice in your inheritance. And so you will inherit a double portion in your land, and everlasting joy will be yours.

—Isaiah 61:7 (NIV)

The more you have success, the more people will try to come against you and shame you. They will tell you that you can’t have success, and they will shame you. The Bible says that for their shame, my people will receive the double portion!

When Gary and I first started the church, people started being critical. I began to change to be what they wanted me to be, and then I didn’t know who I was. I pulled back on my dreams and visions due to criticism from others. I was compromising my dreams for the approval of others. Religion will put you in a box and tell you that you can’t enjoy what God says you have. This is a lie from the enemy.

Dream big today! Don’t stop dreaming because of other people treat you like a victim.

God is GOOD, and He is GREATER!

I just want to encourage you today: You are made in the image of God. Philippians 4:13 says that you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you! Jesus has given you power over the evil one! When the world says you can’t, the WORD says you can! Live the vision God has called you to!

I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world

John 16:33 (NLT)
