It’s Not About What You Can Accomplish On Your Own

Sweating. Chest pain. Shortness of breath. Dizziness.

I thought I was having a heart attack.

God seemed to have taken His hand off of me.

But my heart was fine. I was dealing with anxiety and depression. Too many events had piled up at once, and I was battling life.

Anti-anxiety and depression medicines only seemed to make things worse.

I was afraid to be by myself. I felt like I couldn’t function. I started to have suicidal thoughts.

I kept praying and reading the Word of God. I needed a miracle.

Like Victoria, I battled suicidal thoughts as a young woman. Maybe you can relate too.

I found my answer, and I was set free from depression and hopelessness.

I want the same for you.

I want to see you reach greater heights. I want to remind you that you can do anything with God.

As children, we pretend to be superheroes, famous people, and great leaders; we think we can do anything. It’s only after life beats us down that we become convinced that we no longer can.

But there’s a hero in you, whether you realize it or not.

You may think you’re just an average, ordinary person living an average, ordinary life, but 2 Corinthians 4:7 says, “But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.”

You have this treasure—this all-surpassing power from God—inside of you! As a child of God, when you spend time in His almighty presence, His glory comes on you, and He changes you from the inside out.

2 Corinthians 3:18 says, “And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.”

You are being transformed into His image!

As you look at God, at His word, and at what He says about you, you’ll discover your identity in Him instead of in your performance or in your lack of performance; you’ll discover that you are loved, accepted, and forgiven.

Then, you’ll be empowered to do things not through your own strength, but through Him and His strength.

Because your life isn’t about what you can accomplish on your own, or what you don’t believe you can accomplish at all, but about what you can accomplish with God!

Now, don’t get me wrong. You’ll still have to face your own “kryptonite”—the insecurities, wrong thoughts, failures of the past, and other things that can render you ineffective; it’s human nature to tend to focus on our weaknesses.

But God looks at you and sees only the good things. He is a good God, and a loving Father, and He looks at you and sees only what He has placed in you and exactly who you are in Him. He sees the legacy you can leave in your family and in the lives of the people you can reach; He sees what you can do for the lost, for eternity.

God created you to make a difference.

He wants to make things happen for you that you’ve only dreamed were possible. He created you to live a supernatural life!

The Gospel is real. Jesus is real. Jesus is a real superhero, and He has real superpowers. Through His death and resurrection, He gives YOU the power over sin, over darkness, over death, over destruction—over everything that Satan has tried to bring into your life to hurt you, cause you pain, or destroy you.

You are destined by God to do great things.
