Rising to the Fight: An Overview of What’s to Come This November

America has never been more divided, no matter how you look at it. Separated by political parties, economic disparity, uprising, violence, racial tension, and more, people are on edge. It is an edge that continues to shift ever closer, especially with US President Joe Biden’s announcement that he was stepping down from the 2024 election, only to be succeeded by his Vice President Kamala Harris.

With so many still recovering from the economical, mental, and overall cultural struggle of Biden’s presidency and subsequent stepping down, one question is on the forefront of everyone’s minds—what is Kamala Harris going to bring to the table? With former President Donald Trump being the Republican candidate, in spite of being called everything from a felon to an incel, what is the fight we’re expecting to see?

Many are well aware of Kamala’s far left beliefs—from abortion to climate change and from gun control to border protection. She has quite a bit to say on all of it. But what are the policies, and what do we need to pray about to keep her out of our presidential office in 2025?

To start us off, Harris has long been a full-time supporter of “women’s reproductive rights,” a fancy term for abortion. She has made multiple claims that she plans to pass legislation to help undo the federal overturning of Roe v. Wade from the 2022 Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization. According to The New York Times, “As a presidential candidate in 2019, she argued that states with a history of restricting abortion rights in violation of Roe should be subject to what is known as pre-clearance for new abortion laws—those laws would have to be federally approved before they could take effect.”1 It has been noted that these laws can no longer be put into effect since the overturning, but Harris has also adamantly opposed anti-abortion laws, including a bill that would have limited the procedure up to 20 weeks in California. She’s not the ideal candidate for those of us who want to support life in a country where one of its founding principles is the pursuit of life.

Then there is gun control, an issue Harris is well-known for being heavily strict on. She has made vows before stating that she would be taking drastic measures. It is a matter she has been very firm on throughout her 20-year political career. “Harris, who oversees the White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention, has been a prominent voice for the Biden administration’s gun policy. At her first campaign rally in Wisconsin on July 23, Harris signaled that reducing gun violence would be a theme of her bid, expressing support for policies long advocated by gun reform groups… every person should have the freedom to live safe from the terror of gun violence, will finally pass red flag laws, universal background checks, and an assault weapons ban,” she said.”2 These laws would not involve the banning of selling but of owning assault rifles.

It has also been repeatedly noted that she is against personal handgun use, as well as conceal and carry licenses. This is an overt threat to a population of people who feel the necessity to defend themselves in such a dangerous time and world, especially since she has publicly backed a bail fund to release three criminals from jail who were incarcerated as a result of crimes such as murder, DUI death, and arson.3

Climate change is another large part of her campaign, particularly issuing funding and other related bills to find ways to combat it. Taking her time and focusing on the environment, more so than the people who are living in her country, isn’t exactly something unheard of within the democratic party. This is even more notable after recent interviews where the following statement was made, “If elected, one of the biggest climate goals Harris would have to craft early in her administration is how much the planet would reduce its climate pollution by 2035—a requirement of the Paris Climate Agreement—the same agreement Trump has vowed he would once again pull the US out of if elected.”4

But what does that mean for the U.S? What is the Paris Agreement, a so widely unknown bill the US was signed into during Biden’s presidency? The Paris Climate Agreement, a legally binding treaty between 196 parties in the UN, including the United States, is an agreement with an overarching goal to “hold the increase in the global average temperature to well below 2°C above pre-industrial levels” and pursue efforts “to limit the temperature increase to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels.”5 This is something that requires the US to sink a lot of taxpayers’ dollars into, along with technology and equipment that instead could be used to better schools.

These are some of the most notable and concerning policies and implementations that are to come should Harris and Walz be elected into office in November. Taking into account the massive spending this would require, as well as the spiritual warfare it would impart onto what is an already struggling nation, Christians, Republicans, and like-minded citizens are concerned. But what can be done? How can we get involved? Where do we as God’s warriors on Earth stand, and how do we do our part in this fight?

The first thing we as Christians should be doing is praying. We should pray against any potential of the election being rigged or interfered with in any way, shape, or form. Pick up your Bibles, enter your prayer closets, and PRAY, warriors! God moves in the physical when we move in the spiritual, and that is primarily through prayer! Whether it’s in your Holy Spirit language or in your native tongue, prayer is essential to thwarting the principalities of darkness and ensuring that this country is brought back under competent leadership!

Secondly, VOTE! I know it sounds rather cliche, but your vote really does matter! Make sure you’re registered here, and if you’re not, make sure you get registered before November! Every vote counts toward bettering not only our future but also the future of the next generation. You may feel as if it doesn’t matter, but in the end, it really does… especially if you’re young! Historically speaking, our younger generations are voting less and less. We’re currently at an all-time low. Be sure to get your ballots in!

Finally, if you really want to get involved, look into volunteer opportunities in your area! Whether it is polling, handing out flyers, or even just encouraging the people around you to vote, nothing is too small to help ensure the future of the land of the free.

Remember, warriors, we live in a fallen world, and anything we can do to help spread the Kingdom of God is vital. Stay strong, stay diligent, and, most importantly, stay in the know! One easy way to do that is to watch my YouTube channel, Drenda on Guard here!

Maintain your warrior hearts everyone, and until next time!
